Aihole, a small village in Karnataka in South India is also called the cradle of Indian temple architecture. The entire temple complex was built between the 5th – 7th century CE. A herculean task indeed…

A stone door frame featuring five layers of carvings. Each level is carved differently and the intricacy is simply amazing.
